The gardens of flora and fauna of natures canvases....with their never ending array of forms, colors, and textures...are a constant enjoyment and inspiration to Barbara as an artist. "By surrounding myself within this panoramic display, makes it a natural for its depiction on my own canvas. The incantation of the Irises, Liatris, and Ivy temp my brush in the nostalgic settings of things of the past. My sensitivities to these evasive subjects become captive and are then bountingly painted in the mistiest hue's of my palette."

Barbara Smith is best known for her romantic and colorful oil paintings reminiscent of days gone by. In everything she paints, her love for flowers, wicker, lace and weathered stone shine through.

Barbara was born in Broklyn, New York. She studied at Tyler School of Fine Arts at Temple University, Pratt Institute and Art Students League of New York.
